10A. AI Assistant
The AI Assistant is a generative artificial intelligence system. When you use it, we process your prompts, generated responses, citations, usage information, and limited account, session, and IP-derived security information to provide the service, retrieve relevant resources, moderate content, prevent abuse, and manage usage limits.
The AI Assistant formulates responses using information retrieved from J1Connect's internal knowledge base. This knowledge base may include curated FAQs, blog posts, Platform pages, in-app content, guides, and other materials approved by J1Connect. These source materials exist independently of your prompt and are not created dynamically for your conversation. The response presented to you is generated by artificial intelligence and may summarize, interpret, or combine those materials.
Prompt content and relevant J1Connect knowledge-base excerpts are sent to OpenAI, our artificial intelligence service provider, to generate and moderate responses. OpenAI may retain API abuse-monitoring logs containing prompts, responses, and related metadata for up to 30 days by default. Data submitted through the OpenAI API is not used to train OpenAI models unless J1Connect expressly opts in to such use.
Signed-in users may dictate a question instead of typing it. When you do, your browser records audio only while you hold the microphone active, and that recording is sent to OpenAI to be converted into text. J1Connect does not store the audio: it is transmitted for transcription and discarded once the text is returned to you. The transcript appears in the message box for you to review, edit, or delete, and is only submitted to the AI Assistant if you choose to send it. Voice input is optional and typing remains available at all times.
Authenticated AI conversations are retained by J1Connect for up to 30 days by default. Guest conversation context is retained in the active browser session. Do not submit passport numbers, Social Security numbers, payment details, medical information, passwords, confidential documents, or other sensitive personal information to the AI Assistant.
AI-generated responses may be incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated and do not constitute official confirmation from J1Connect. To confirm information about the Platform, its services, accounts, features, or internal procedures, contact J1Connect Support. Information concerning visas, immigration, program eligibility, sponsorship, employment authorization, tax, or legal compliance is general information only and is not legal advice. Confirm an individual situation with the designated sponsor, the relevant authority, or a qualified professional. The AI Assistant does not make automated decisions about eligibility, employment, sponsorship, or immigration status.
11. Notification of data breaches
In the event of a data breach, we will:
• Notify relevant authorities within 72 hours, if required by law.
• Inform affected users via email if their data is at risk.
If J-1 CONNECT undergoes a merger, acquisition, or sale, user data may be transferred, and users will be notified accordingly.
