Description
The Deli Clerk assists customers by preparing and serving a variety of freshly sliced meats, cheeses, salads, and hot foods. They ensure food quality and freshness, follow proper food handling and sanitation guidelines, and maintain a clean service counter. The role involves weighing, packaging, labeling products, and restocking deli cases. Deli Clerks also answer customer questions, take special orders, and provide samples when permitted. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy customer interaction and learning about food preparation and merchandising.
General requirements
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Stand/walk for extended periods; bend, reach, and lift up to 40–50 lbs. (with or without accommodation).
- Tolerate variable temperatures in coolers/freezers and brief outdoor tasks (cart retrieval, carry-outs).
- Dress code: Black, gray, khaki, navy blue solid slacks. Black slip resistant shoes. Black, white or navy polo shirt.
- Grooming code: Neat and clean: Nails, hair, breath, clothing.
Compensation
$12.75/hr
