Three Dots and a Dash is a cocktail-focused tiki lounge in Chicago, part of Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants. The menu takes a craft approach to both classic and modern tiki cocktails, with fresh juices and syrups made in house daily and a selection of more than 150 distinctive rums.
The name Three Dots and a Dash is Morse code for "V", standing for Victory. The code was used at the end of World War II as soldiers were heading home, and to commemorate the victory, Don the Beachcomber created a drink called "Three Dots and a Dash", made with rum, honey, allspice and bitters.
The bar won Best New American Cocktail Bar at the 2014 Spirited Awards and was ranked No. 27 on The World's 50 Best Bars list in 2014.
