The Grey

The Grey was built in Historic Downtown Savannah by Johno Morisano and Chef Mashama Bailey, who partnered over a common viewpoint on what makes for delicious food. Occupying a 1938 art deco Greyhound bus terminal that they painstakingly restored to its original luster, The Grey offers a food, wine and service experience that is at once familiar and elevated.

Bringing her personal take on Port City Southern food to the city of her youth allows Mashama Bailey to draw on all of her experiences to create dishes that are deep, layered and soulful in flavor. With a penchant for regional produce, seafood and meats, her cooking offers a melting pot of surprising and comforting tastes, with something new revealed on every visit. A focus on European wines, Atlantic Trade liquors and warm, old-world hospitality completes the experience for guests. The Grey continues the building's long tradition of transporting people to a destination, now one of elevated hospitality and intrinsic satisfaction.

The Grey is part of Grey Spaces. Mashama Bailey won the James Beard Foundation Award for Best Chef: Southeast in 2019 and for Outstanding Chef in 2022, and the restaurant was named among La Liste's Outstanding Restaurants in 2020, 2023, 2025 and 2026.
