The French Laundry is Chef Thomas Keller's fine dining restaurant at 6640 Washington St in Yountville, California, and one of the most highly regarded fine dining destinations worldwide since it opened in 1994. Its daily changing tasting menu of American and French cuisine is centered on seasonal ingredients, many of them sourced from the neighboring culinary garden, and prepared with French techniques. The restaurant is part of the Thomas Keller group and a member of Relais & Chateaux.
The French Laundry has held Three Michelin Stars in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026, and a Michelin Green Star every year from 2021 to 2026. It was rated AAA Five Diamond in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2025 and named among La Liste's Outstanding Restaurants in 2020, 2023, 2025 and 2026. Thomas Keller won the James Beard Award for Outstanding Chef in 1997 and Outstanding Restaurateur in 2007, and Timothy Hollingsworth was named James Beard Rising Star Chef of the Year in 2010.
