Lula Cafe's mission is to create joyful moments for its community by sharing food with love.
Its values reflect the history of its founders, who built a small, humble cafe in order to share art, food and friendship, as well as a goal to progress beyond this history as the cafe grows into a new, transformative model.
The business is built to support these values, continued learning and a commitment to an ethics of love. Lula Cafe believes in promoting care, respect, integrity, safety and transparency in the workplace, and its core values are empathy, creativity, equity and community.
Lula Cafe, a farm-to-table cafe at 2537 North Kedzie Boulevard in Chicago, won the James Beard Award for Outstanding Hospitality in 2024.
