Jewel of the South

Jewel of the South is a temple to New Orleans culture and to the exquisite cocktail skills of co-founder and Southern cocktail pioneer Chris Hannah. Located in a renovated 1830s Creole cottage, its courtyard and wood-framed parlour rooms provide a true oasis within the bustling French Quarter. Throughout the cozy rooms there are nods to the city's storied history, such as vintage musical fliers and portraits of Louisiana luminaries. Its signature Southern service earned the bar the Michter's Art of Hospitality Award in 2024, but perhaps the greatest nod to New Orleans is behind Hannah's zinc-plated bar.

As a natural complement, the kitchen offers indulgences such as its "Casual Caviar" happy hour and crawfish raviolo, as well as often overlooked English dishes like the Eccles cake. At Jewel, the drinks menu and ambience offer the chance to soak in the Crescent City's past while sipping on its future. Retaining the title for a third year, Jewel of the South was named The Best Bar in South USA 2025 by 50 Best.

The bar also won the James Beard Award for Outstanding Bar in 2024 and Best American Restaurant Bar at the 2022 Spirited Awards, where Chris Hannah was named American Bartender of the Year, and it ranked on The World's 50 Best Bars (No. 49 in 2023, No. 34 in 2024 and No. 44 in 2025) and on North America's 50 Best Bars in 2024, 2025 and 2026 (No. 6).
