Hatchet Hall

Hatchet Hall is a wood-fire cookery in Culver City / West Los Angeles with an emphasis on ingredients, old American techniques and community, serving Heritage American food cooked by hand. The restaurant set out to turn a neglected neighborhood space into a place where everyone feels welcome, with a range of dining and drinking experiences. From the bright, open-air patio to the dark and intimate Old Man Bar, its handcrafted spaces are designed to elevate every sitting, course and pour.

Hatchet Hall works closely with local farmers and purveyors to bring the best quality to the table. Family is at the heart of the restaurant, whether that means loved ones, farmers or guests, all gathered around the same table. The menu changes daily with the seasons of California, and produce is bought in limited quantities to keep things exciting for staff and guests alike. The food is simple, never heavily plated or overdone, finding beauty in imperfection.

The wine list is updated regularly, with limited by-the-glass runs and a focus on the culture and history of wine and on the natural wine movement of organic, biodynamic and sustainable wines. The spirits list is extensive and specializes in American whiskey, including expressions only available through full single-barrel purchases. Hatchet Hall is part of LAM Ryan Hospitality Group and received One Michelin Star in 2022.
